Understanding your score
Solid foundations. Focus on the remaining warnings and on AI readiness.
Clear gains available — start with the quick wins, then the critical fixes.
Something basic is holding the page back. Fix the critical items first.
The overall score is a weighted average of all 17 modules; on-page SEO, GEO, crawlability and AI readiness carry the most weight. It is a diagnostic score from observable signals — not a Google, Bing or ChatGPT ranking score.
Frequently asked questions
Is this SEO audit tool really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no credit card and no limit on the number of audits. Core Web Vitals come from Google's free PageSpeed Insights API — if you run a lot of audits, add your own free API key under Advanced options to avoid Google's rate limits.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO is about ranking in classic search results. AEO (answer engine optimization) is about being the direct answer in featured snippets, People Also Ask and voice assistants. GEO (generative engine optimization) is about being read, trusted and cited by AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews. This tool checks all three on the same page.
Can it tell me whether ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity can access my page?
Yes. It reads your robots.txt rules for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and other AI crawlers, then re-fetches the page as each bot to catch blocks or different content served to them. What no tool can promise is that an AI engine will actually cite you — access is the first requirement, not a guarantee.
How is the score calculated?
Every check is weighted by impact (high, medium or low), and each module score is the weighted share of checks that pass, with partial credit for warnings. The overall score is a weighted average of the 17 modules, with on-page SEO, GEO, crawlability and AI readiness counting the most. It is a diagnostic score, not a Google or ChatGPT ranking score.
Can I use the reports with my clients?
Yes. Under Advanced options you can add your agency name, logo, accent colour, client name and your own notes. The PDF, HTML, Markdown, CSV and score-card exports all carry your branding instead of ours.
Do you store the URLs I audit or the results?
No. The page is fetched through our server only so the audit can run, and nothing is kept afterwards. Your audit history, checklist progress and branding settings are saved in your own browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Why are some checks marked as unavailable?
Redirect tracing, SSL and DNS lookups, security headers and the live bot simulation need a server-side request. If a site blocks our fetcher, those checks are marked unavailable instead of guessing, and the rest of the audit still runs.
Can it audit a whole website?
This tool goes deep on one URL at a time. To crawl a full site for broken links, duplicate titles and orphan pages, use the IndexCraft SEO Crawler, then bring your most important pages back here for a full audit.
